CHS seeks to support families in their home education endeavors and to provide a means of accountability to fulfill all legal requirements while being flexible enough to accommodate the individual parents’ philosophy of education for their children. We offer Guidance, Accountability, and Support.  In accordance with our biblical values, we do not discriminate by race, ethnicity or disability.

Guidance

• Teacher training seminars
• Homeschool topic speakers at biannual all school teachers meetings
• Educational consultants  on staff for curriculum suggestions and guidance in choosing courses(K-8 and High School)
• Teaching Time small groups to further your educational knowledge, learn from others’ experiences and to verify annual required teacher training required on renewal application
• Guidance and limited support for parents of children with learning difficulties)in process)

Accountability (and academic services)

• Provide accountability to fulfill all legal requirements while being flexible enough to accommodate individual parents’ philosophy of education for their children
• Affidavit filed on behalf of all member families (student names are not listed in the affidavit, so privacy is maintained)
• Cumulative files maintained
• Record keeping forms provided
• Quarterly / semester reports required and follow-up done
• Annual achievement testing available for all ages (required grades 6-9 only)

  •  Initial test assessment for new high school students entering CHS for the first time

Support

• Field trips and other student/family activities
• Lending library containing children’s literature (some as audio books) by Christian authors as well as material for parents
• School identity: school pictures, I.D. cards, yearbook*; this can help take pressure off children when asked what school they attend)
• Online news updates and support articles which include information on school activities and requirements, teaching tips, information about classes offered for homeschool students, legal updates, family field trip ideas and more

*Assuming parent involvement
